External review of EVA 2010

EVA has been subject to an external review in 2010-11. The review was positive concluding that EVA complied with the ENQA quality standards in all essentials. Subsequently, EVA’s full membership of ENQA was reconfirmed. In 2005 the first review of EVA was carried out by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education.

The review in 2010 focused on EVA’s ability to comply with the European Standards and Guidelines, and solely on EVA’s activities within the field of higher education.

The review has three key elements: EVA’s self-evaluation, visit by an external expert panel and a report made public. In November 2010 the panel visited EVA. Their final evaluation report was published in Spring 2011.

International expert panel

The panel comprised two quality assurance experts from outside the national system being reviewed, a representative of higher education institutions, a stakeholder and a student:

  • Peter Williams, former Chief Executive in the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
  • Staffan Wahlén, former senior advisor in the Department of Evaluation at the Swedish Högskoleverket.
  • Laust Joen Jakobsen – President of Rectors' Conference of University Colleges and rector, University College UCC.
  • Inger Andersen, director, Department of Children and Culture, City of Frederiksberg.
  • Gertie De Fraye, student.
