Narratives and evaluation communities concerning children’s language development

Number of pages: 59 p. | Year of publication: 2013
5 booklets and 2 templates – first published in Danish in 2010, published in English in 2013. This page contains an overview and links to all other parts of the material.

This material supports and inspires development oriented dialogue about quality, and is based on narratives concerning children’s language learning. The material is based on a qualitative approach, where narratives can be used to capture the complexity and the context of children’s language learning. The intention is to create and maintain lively dialogue forums – called evaluation communities in the material - in which participants over time develop a common reference for quality in child day care through systematically sharing concrete experiences that are connected to the work with quality.

Dr. Patricia Shaw, University of Hertfordshire has functioned as an independent advisor to the project.

The material includes:

Booklet 1: Introduction to the material
Booklet 2: Inspiration material
Booklet 3: Learning stories
Booklet 4: The pedagogical evaluation community
Booklet 5: The municipal evaluation community
A template for writing a learning story
A template for writing a meta-narrative
